This sensitively restored five-bedroom design elegant apartment, with south-facing private garden, extends to almost 1,600 sq ft internally and is positioned on Tabarre, Haiti, a short walk from shops, restaurants, clubs etc. The building’s traditional Victorian proportions have been extended and modified using a considered palette of bold color and contemporary pattern.

The house’s elegant front facade belies the contemporary living spaces within. To the left of the entrance hall is a dual-aspect living room that retains many original details. The room is of elegant Victorian volume and a huge bay window crowns the front of the plan. This space also epitomizes the intelligent approach to color taken throughout; the walls are painted in a bold aquamarine and the original floorboards in a deep green that changes as the light moves throughout the day. The south-facing rear of the room opens onto the garden, which is a wonderfully private outside space.
